Dear Parents,
Welcome to kindergarten at the “Islanders” Preschool.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Marina Jarova.
I graduated with bachelors degree in Elementary Education and masters degree
in General Education from the College of Staten Island. This is a very important year. Kindergarten is so much fun! I am so happy to have the opportunity to teach your child this year. Throughout the year, your child will discover many wonderful things about how we speak,
listen, read, and write in English. I do not want to limit your child only to stories found in any
one book. In order to accomplish this, I will need your help and
support. Please plan to spend at least 15 minutes each
day reading with or reading to your child.
There will be homework assigned each night,
except for Friday. Assignments will be written down in homework notebook,
which your child will receive soon after the school begins on September 5, 2006.
I will ask for your signature so that we can ensure students are learning successful
organization skills and study habits, as well as this is an excellent way to communicate
regularly between home and school. Please, try to bring your child on time for
our first lesson of the day, which starts at 9:30am. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me at (718)979-5331
during my work hours 9am to 3:30pm.
Thank You!
